Introduction
This three-day instructor-led course shows students how to install and configure Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0. The course explores the components used within a Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 deployment, the hardware and software requirements needed to successfully deploy Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0, and the installation instructions for the four primary Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 components: the database, the Application File Server, the Application Object Server, and the Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 Client.

Audience

Installation and Configuration for Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 training is recommended for people who plan to install, implement, configure, consult, or support Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0. The class is targeted toward administrators, implementers, developers, and consultants who need to understand the technical aspects and administrative functionality of Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0. The course is not intended for non-technical staff.


At Course Completion

The goal of this course is to enable students to:
• Identify the primary components that support Microsoft CRM, including the Microsoft SQL Server database, Application File Server, Application Object Server, Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft SQL Analysis Server, Internet Information Services, SharePoint Services and Active Directory.
• Identify the Hardware and Software requirements for the various Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0deployment scenarios.
• Recognize the requirements that must be in place prior to installing Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0
• Complete the Installation procedures for the SQL Server database, Application File Server, Application Object Server, and Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 Client for both the live and test environments.
• Complete the Installation Checklist
• Complete several Post-installation tasks, including entering preliminary data in the core Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 modules
• Configure Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 to work between live, test, and development environments.
• Import data into Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP, Microsoft SharePoint, MicrosoftSQL Server 2005, Active Directory, and Internet Information Services.
